"BECOME A BioGenetics EXCLUSIVE DONOR"
at
THE SPERM BANK OF NEW YORK

THE SPERM BANK of NEW YORK
is a facilitator and an affiliate of BioGenetics Corporation.
BioGenetics Corporation  through The Sperm Bank of New York is seeking to recruit donors for one (1) of two (2) programs

1) The "Anonymous" donor where by the identity of the donor will not be disclosed and personal data will remain confidential.

2) The "Open IDentification" donor  where by the donor's identity is revealed to the recipient from the on set during a series of "face to face" meetings and eventually to the off-spring. The number of pregnancies is limited to "2" per State, in the U.S.

Volunteers for these programs usually reside within the States surrounding New York. BioGenetics welcomes donors of diverse ethnic origins and religions. Donors sign-up for a period of not less then six (6) consecutive months, and may remain active in the program for a maximum period of three years.

The individual donor agrees to donate his semen to BioGenetics. BioGenetics will distribute the semen specimen to medical  practitioners specializing in reproduction  for helping individuals in the conception of a child or children through Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures.

The preferred age is 20 - 40 (the 40th birthday must be one (1) year from the date of a donor beginning with the program) so as to avoid genetic anomalies. You must have graduated from an accreditated institution, College/University (this information must be verifiable). An associates degree or have completed two (2) years of College/University education is acceptable too to meet our basic requirements. Prior fertility is noted but is not required.

Every donor must  be ready to collect his semen specimen on the premises at The Sperm Bank of New York. Each semen specimen is subject to complete semen analysis, including cell count, motility and morphology prior to freezing. The semen sample is divided and placed into separate vials, one of which will be evaluated for sperm count and sperm motility after freezing to assure good recovery of motility.

How Do You Get Started as a Donor?
(Five Step Program)

I. The initial evaluation process takes approximately 4 -  6 weeks

  1. You will need to collect 3 to 5 samples with an interval of 48-72 hours between specimens. These samples are used for quality assurance testing only, and will allow us to screen potential candidates. No payment is issued for these evaluation samples.
  2. All semen samples must be collected on the premises.
  3. You must have abstained from any sexual activity or masturbation for 48-72 hours. The quality of each sample is checked for the sperm concentration (number of sperm cells) and motility (percent of sperm cells moving). This procedure is performed on the fresh ejaculate, and again within 3-4 days on a thawed portion of the frozen specimen for quality assurance.
IF the quality of the donor's semen specimens meet  BioGenetics, standards, the donor will undergo initial laboratory testing for the following : HIV 1/2, HTLV-I&II, Hepatitis B-Core, Hepatitis B Surface antigen, Hepatitis C virus, CMV, Blood group and Rh, Chemistry profile and Syphilis serology. In addition, semen and urine will be provided by the donor for laboratory screening of Sexually Transmitted Disease(STD) testing to rule out the presence of any of the following: Mycoplasma, Ureaplasma, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia,  Herpes Simplex virus 2 and Beta Streptococcus bacteria.

B-Thalassemia, Drug Abuse Testing, Cystic Fibrosis, Tay Sachs and Chromosome Analysis, as well as screening donors of Jewish ancestry for Neimann - Picks Disease, Canavan Disease, Gaucher's Disease.

NOTE: The "Open ID" donor program agreement is somewhat similar to the anonymous donor program agreement,  with the exception of the disclosure  of personal  data pertinent to the individual donor. In addition, the donor may be asked to enter into a separate agreement with the recipient and/or couple that have chosen this type of donor program.
The "OPEN ID" program allows all persons involved to contractually agree, from the onset of the process, to reveal their identity and whereabouts to each other and the future offspring.
